i don't know that anyone even visits this site anymore, but artwork has taken a backseat to wedding planning over the last seven months. alex and i designed our own invitations (was there ever any doubt?) and are going to great lengths to DiY as much as possible. we are actually having two ceremonies and receptions: a muslim set on 12/25/08 followed by a civil service and 80s dance party (with an awesome string quartet featuring members of the SA Symphony as well as mariachis) on 12/28, both in San Antonio. we are very excited and have been extremely detail-oriented about most every aspect of the planning. some of my favorite projects have been the blueprints for various sewing projects alex's mother happily takes on (custom tablecloths, ringbearer pillows, bow ties), totally bodacious flower girl baskets, a wedding coloring book for the kiddos (i found smurf clip art :D) and my "cake" centerpieces. our vows will be in spanish and our good friend john gornall will be officiating the civil service.
so that's the wedding in a nutshell. photos of the planning process can be found here.

happy valentine's day! while i still haven't stopped by myself, i've received emails from several kind people who have already purchased my work at Kerbey Lane, so check it out before it's gone! i'm glad to see that the new, larger-scale pieces are being well-received so i'll be working on more projects in that same vein. sorry about the lack of new photos... i have a spiffy new camera, but have lost its spiffy usb cord so it's not doing me a whole lot of good. ¡cuidense!

my art will be taking over Kerbey Lane Cafe on Kerbey Ln. & 38th St. starting Friday evening for the month of February. i've got some brand new pieces covered with resin that don't photograph very well, so please check them out in person and let me know what you think! I'll also have several framed prints, old paintings, and Valentine's Day cards for sale. thanks for your support!
happy new year!
